Holiday Trees Original Acrylic Painting

Holiday Trees is a 6×6" original acrylic painting on paper — small in size, generous in spirit. Five stylized pine trees fill a snowy landscape beneath a deep blue sky. Two trees stand quietly in the distance, their yellow stars catching the light. Three bolder trees step forward in the foreground — each crowned with a red star, each a slightly different shade of green. One of the front trees is dotted with red — polka-dotted, really — as if it dressed itself in ornaments and couldn't stop.

The background was created using a gelli plate mono-printing technique, building rich layers of color and texture before the trees emerged through a negative painting process — a technique where shapes are revealed by painting around them rather than filling them in. The result is a painting with depth, warmth, and a quiet sense of magic that feels handmade in the very best way.
