I Am

We endured some rather harsh weather here in Michigan. Some folks lost everything in the flooding. I lost family photos and works of art. This painting came as a result of those floods as I salvaged bits a pieces and set them aside. 

The textured background imitates the sand and mud residue. The torn canvas pieces declare the significance of the artwork. Despite the damage, I am still here, stronger than ever. The ruined photograph portrays the waves that led to its destruction, yet it possesses a unique charm.

This artwork symbolizes humanity's resilience.
