My Love Affair with Paper: The Texture, Colors, and Creativity

I’ve always been drawn to paper—the textures, the patterns, the colors, the possibilities. It’s one of those materials that feels full of potential, waiting to be turned into something unique.

I can trace my love of paper back to my childhood. I’ll never forget the trips to Woolworths with my mother, where I’d be completely captivated by the small arts & crafts section. While she shopped, I’d stand there for what felt like hours, mesmerized by the endless variety of papers, inks, pens, markers, crayons, and notebooks etc. It was like my own little world of creative wonder.

Fast forward to today, and I still find myself in similar places—only now the stores are bigger, and the art supplies are even more tempting. But the result is always the same: I love art supplies!

Paper and Paint: A New Love Story

Even though my main focus is acrylic painting, that doesn’t stop me from indulging my paper obsession. In fact, I’ve recently been experimenting with acrylics on paper—and wow, what a fun twist that’s been! The way the paint interacts with paper’s texture opens up new possibilities for my art.

But it doesn’t stop there. I’ve also been creating digital papers using some of my own artwork, because... well, that’s just how much I LOVE paper! (Seriously, I can't get enough of it.)
